Commissioned by Anthony James Higgins in 2023.
The painting is based on Anthony's favorite photo of his Grandpa Wayne's 1956 Chevy Corvette parked in front of the Cutchogue Diner. According to Barrett–Jackson (.com), 1956 was the first year of this body and style with 2 tone paint and real glass roll-up windows. GM produced 3467 Corvettes that year (3rd lowest), with only an estimated 75 survivors left. The first Corvette was made in 1953. The diner, an original 1941 Kullman Diner built by Saul Kullman to bring the American diner experience to Germany starting in 1927, is located on the Main Road in Cutchogue on the North Fork of Long Island, NY.
